Martin Mor

Martin is blessed with animal-keen senses that enable him to track people and objects with an impressive degree of success. He also processes uncanny comic improvisational skills. His mission is to remove evil from the world, or at least have a laugh about it

Born into a circus family, the famous Mucmors, Martin had an early career as a juggler, unicyclist, knife thrower, fire-eater, magician, and photographic model. As the result of an accident in the big top, in which he sustained a shattered ankle, he was forced to retire from performing his famous, freestanding ladder, tall unicycle, basketball juggling, pyrotechnic act.

Temporally robbed of his mobility, his senses reorganized themselves, producing a heightened comedic ability, lightning fast improvisational skills, and an improved sense of smell. He became a stand-up comedian. The beast within the boy unleashed at last, he became the dynamic, multi-skilled performer Martin Bigpig Mor, combining startlingly original material with bold, energetic improvisation

Markus Birdman

If Markus Birdman were a Blues singer, he’d get a song out of having his body turn against him at the shockingly young age of 40. As he’s a comedian, he’s forged the experience into a show.

Markus Birdman is one of the leading comics on the UK and international live circuit. He regularly headlines the world famous Comedy Store and has performed sell out solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, the Adelaide Fringe, and the Melbourne Comedy Festival. He has delighted audiences from China to Mumbai, from Singapore to Sweden (in fairness he died on his backside in Germany). He has appeared on BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 5Live, BBC Radio Wales and on BBC and ITV television shows in the UK as well as regular appearances on Paramount TV’s Comedy Central and Live at the Comedy Store.

Mark Maier

Talented award-winning writer and stand-up, Mark Maier, is an established and highly sought after performer on both the national and international comedy circuits.

He has worked the comedy clubs of Germany, Holland, Ireland, Hong Kong, The Bahamas, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand and has also appeared at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles and Caroline’s in New York

Amongst his many credits, Mark has taught and performed improvisation with Catherine Tate in London and has had a string of successful radio series, in which he both wrote and performed in.

Marcus Brigstocke

Co founder of Taking the Piste and snowboarding demon Marcus Brigstocke is part of the Alpine furniture (but gladly not made of pine).

We know him as a regular on TV and radio shows such as The Now Show, Live at the Apollo, Have I got News for You and countless others. Marcus has recently forayed into the theatre playing leading roles in the Monty Python musical Spamalot and Olivier award winning production of the Railway Children. If that wasn’t enough, Marcus is now a published author of the his theological book The God Collar. See the book on Amazon

He is committed to non-violence and is an active campaigner for environmental awareness and action as well as his ongoing involvement with Cape Farewell, War on Want and the ‘Campaign Against Arms Trade’.

Lloyd Langford

We welcome back to the Alps after an absence of 7 years the wonderfully funny Lloyd Langford. Typical of his easy going, laid back style, he was a roaring success here back then and then didn’t bother to come back. Until now of course!

You may have seen Lloyd on Ask Rhod Gilbert (BBC1) , Dave’s One Night Stand (Dave), or Don’t Sit In The Front Row (Sky Atlantic). You could have heard him on The Unbelievable Truth (Radio 4) or you may have just seen him down the pub, if you have or you haven’t, then come and check him out whilst he’s in the Alps!

Expect a delicious mix of jokes, stories, observations, ad-libs, one-liners, accents*, theories, topical gags and self-deprecation, all blended together to make a hearty comedy cawl**.

* There’ll just be the one accent.
** A type of Welsh stew.

Kai Humphries

Kai is a happy-go-lucky, supremely funny and truly loveable Geordie comedian and compere, his infectious enthusiasm and high-octane delivery of genuinely hilarious and delightfully optimistic material has seen him rapidly shooting up the professional comedy ranks.

In May 2010 he recorded his TV debut for Comedy Central’s “The Comedy Store” alongside some of the biggest names in comedy, but barely 18 moths after his very first time ever on stage.

A self-confessed lad’s lad, his disarmingly friendly delivery holds a few surprises – not least his ability to supplement his cheeky banter with a contrasting intelligence in his material. Kai’s mind holds a truly unique and vivid imagination, although the occasional “dick joke” – admittedly, well written and funny dick joke – can also make its’ presence felt.

Kai is genuinely excited and passionate to share his stories and jokes with his audience and does this in such an engaging and intimate way that it could easily be just a group of mates having a good night out. He is a natural entertainer and judging by the numerous gigs all over the world, Kai is set to have a very successful comedy career.

2016 Dates:

14/3 – Whistlers Bar, Arc 2000

15/3 – Bar Mont Blanc, Peisey Vallandry

16/3 – Lodge du Village, Meribel Village (MERIBEL SPRING PARTY)

17/3 – Hotel Le Vert, Chamonix

Josie Long

Josie Long first came to the Alps back in 2007, when she was the proud winner of the ‘best breakthrough act’ at Edinburgh. 5 Years later she returns, after having been nominated for the main award twice!

Her set has changed from the cutsey, fumbling, rose-tinted observation to a more astute, politically hard-hitting and socially aware humour, but still delivered with the disarming charm she’s always had. This is a thoroughly recommended show, for the comedy fan in the Alps!

Josh Howie

Josh is the son of legendary PR guru Lynne Franks, the woman who inspired Jennifer Saunders’ character Edina in Absolutely Fabulous. Raised as a Buddhist this ex-public schoolboy then trained as a Rabbi before being kicked off the programme for being caught with a naked (non-Jewish) girl. He started his own PR firm when he was just 16, received critical acclaim for writing and directing a short film for Channel 4, and has had a number of senior roles in music video production companies. And now he’s decided to settle down and get a proper job – as a stand-up comedian.

Josh Howie is the perfect blend of Larry David and Woody Allen all wrapped in a Briton’s body. As Howie puts it, there are no taboo subjects in comedy. He’s not afraid to mention the Holocaust or the size of his own appendage. One thing he does try to do is break down the Jewish stereotype, because apparently there’s lots of money in it.

Josh’s aim with his shows, like all comedian’s should be is to make people laugh. However he doesn’t intend to do this by connecting with the audience about mundane gags about the alarm clock or the toaster, Josh’s own life story is far more interesting and funny.

John Hastings

John Hastings is a comedian who has performed all over America, Canada all the small scary corners of the United Kingdom. His first hour show features stories and jokes based in the odd experience of travelling the world as a comedian as well his love of heavy metal, his strange upbringing and what it is like to look racist and not be racist.
