Dave Fulton

So if you like the new fluffy, low cut jeans, high hair do, offend no one, comedy that’s very popular right now, then you may not like the cut of this mans jib. Dave Fulton was born from the copulations of the Greek comedy gods ‘Sardonis’ and ‘Cynisis’ (no doubt after they consumed way too much Raki and found themselves in a sticky embrace on the back seat of the Parthenon).

There’s a reason we ask him back with out fail and that’s because he hits a home run on every trip You’ll really enjoy this guys set, especially if you like well crafted, thought provoking humour.

“Nothing escaped his sardonic humor.”
The Union

“-It’s only comics with something to say that cross the Atlantic.”
The Guardian

“Fulton is left as a sole crusader for US topical comedy.”
The List

“(Fulton) represents the tough talking, risk-taking school of yankee comics,……..He’s intelligent, remarkably relaxed on stage and clearly out to create a bit of mischief.”
Time Out-London

“…Fulton puts it out there. It’s your job to pick it up. And if you are a smart man, you will.”
The Seattle Times

“…Could be cast as the evil cast away in the satanic remake of The Blue Lagoon.”
San Fransisco Examiner

“Not very likeable, even when funny.”
News of the World

Daniel Sloss

The Fife-born comic has done a lot in recent times. He’s co-written an online indie sitcom called MUFF conducted a TED-style talk about the nature of stories, performed stand-up on late-night US TV show, Conan, and has had sell out Edinburgh Festival shows since 2009. At the age of  just 23 the world is clearly his Oyster, he has the pearls and the seafood platter.

We are really excited to welcome Daniel Sloss for his début tour with Taking The Piste and we know that this will be one of the highlights of our comedy season.

Sharp witted and hip Sloss delivers his set with an ease and confidence that transports the audience into his world. His world is a treasure trove of wondrous things, where you will find comedy gold and and often beautiful gems of hilarity

Dana Alexander

Confrontational, sassy, edgy and very funny, we are really looking forward to welcoming Dana Alexander to the Alps this year.

Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Dana Alexander started stand-up when she was 18, going on to establish herself as a regular at such clubs as the Yuk Yuk’s chain.

Billed as the only black female comic on the Canadian comedy circuit, she voted a ‘best discovery’ by Now Magazine in 2006.

She moved to the UK in 2011, making her Edinburgh Fringe debut that same year. She was then nominated for best club comic in the 2012 Chortle Awards

Craig Campbell

Some say he’s the rising star of comedy, others say he’s the best on the circuit and others say still he’s the reason the word ‘incomparable’ was invented. Here at Taking the Piste we say if you spend half an hour in the company of this man (on or off stage) then you are richly rewarded way beyond the dreams of the greediest of bankers!

Craig Campbell is THE most sought after act in the Alps, venues clamour for this gig!

In the past year Craig has been nominated Best Headliner at The Chortle Awards, supported Frankie Boyle on his 120 date nationwide tour, finished his own nationwide solo tour – Craig Campbell Live – and performed on Dave’s One Night Stand, Russell Howard’s Good News and Michael Macintyre’s Comedy Roadshow and completed a sell out Edinburgh show 2011!

Chris Martin

This year we welcome Chris Martin to the Alps comedy circuit. He has supported Jack Whitehall (2011), Russell Kane (2012) & Milton Jones on his full tour for 2013. He has also appeared on the very popular tv show ‘Dave’s one night stand’.
Chris has also performed a sold out run at Edinburgh Festival in 2011 for his show “Chris Martin: No, Not That One” & has recently done his first solo tour in the spring of 2014. This fresh young comedian has become very popular from his radio podcasts and is sure to be one to watch in the world of comedy, and we are not the only one’s that think so…
“One of the UK’s best young observationalists” The Guardian
“Top 10 comedy podcasts” The Guardian
“Destined for Greatness” The Sunday Times

Carl Donnelly

Carl’s conversational style and silly sense of humour have seen him win a host of awards and become a regular act and MC at clubs all over the country (and the world having also performed in France, Germany, Singapore, The Netherlands, Oman, Dubai, China, Thailand, Ireland and probably some others he has forgotten about!).

Carl is genuinely loveable and charming and you find yourself just wanting to be his best mate. We’re not the only ones who think that either. Look what the Guardian said about him..

“The reason why Donnelly is one of the highest-rated emerging stars on the UK circuit is his incredible ability to turn the seemingly mundane existence of the 21st-century slacker into gripping, unmissable stand-up. In Donnelly’s hands, something as simple as getting out of bed can be the springboard to a hilarious anecdote” – The Guardian

You might also recognise Carl’s Napoleon Dynamite-esque face from television. He’s recently starred in ‘The Comedy Store Live’, ‘Grouchy Young Men’ and ‘Russell Howard’s Good News’.

Carey Marx

WINNER – BEST INTERNATIONAL SHOW – NEW ZEALAND COMEDY FESTIVAL 2009 and 2011

NOMINATED BEST SHOW – LEICESTER COMEDY FESTIVAL 2009

Appearing in the Alps between the 15th – 18th of January 2018.
Carey Marx has been a circuit favourite for years mixing his own blend of dark humour with his mischeivious and gleeful delivery.  His willful disregard for the controversial and delicate is tempered beautifully by his ability to find joy in the most unexpected places.  This  hilarious mix of edgy topics and playful gagsmithery can be seen at all the top clubs across the country with Marx regularly playing Jongleurs, Komedia and The Comedy Store and annually compering Reading, Leeds and Glastonbury Festivals.
Carey Marx is ridiculous, playful and bellyachingly funny, don’t miss this one!
Carey has performed all over the world including a run in the Middle East and he performed at the New Zealand Comedy Festival for the first time in 2010 scooping the award for Best International Show.
In 2011 Carey returned to the New Zealand Comedy Festival to perform, where he was awarded the prize of Best International Show for the second time- making him the only act in the history of the festival to achieve such a feat. He also took another fantastic new show ‘Laziness And Stuff’ to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Bryan Lacey

The audience is treated to some fine stand up! Lacey is top notch!!!’Three Weeks

‘A genuinely funny man and a potential comedy star of the future!’– BBC6 Music

Bryan started his professional stage career at the age of just 13, so its no wonder that Bryan looks at home in front of an audience. Since then Bryan has studied performing arts at Middlesex University giving him the opportunity to focus on his true passions- comedy, performing, playing music and writing songs.

Bryan found his true calling in stand up comedy after a string of jobs.  He decided life wasn’t interesting enough and he wanted to do something that both scared and challenged him all at the same time.

His mixture of slick, well honed material lets you into his world introducing you to some of the strange incidents and people that he seems to attract. Mixing both stand up with catchy, gag filled songs Bryan tops it off with a relaxed yet cheeky delivery making him an audience favourite.

Although still a relatively new to the world of comedy, Bryan is a strong act and an excellent MC for any gig. He’s firmly established himself with various promoters and clubs throughout the UK and overseas.

Brian Gittins

From greasy spoon owner to the London Palladium in five years. That’s Brian Gittins’s ambition, and he’s well on the way – Gittins (the alter ego of actor David Earl) supported Ricky Gervais in London last month. Aspects of his act recall Gervais’s work – particularly the David Brent titter that follows every duff punchline. Closer comparisons can be drawn with the likes of Count Arthur Strong or Jeremy Lion.Gittins is another character who trades in anti-comedy; in the gulf between a pathetic man’s ambitions and his total lack of entertainment ability.

Appearing in the Alps from

After 6 years on the circuit, Brian Gittins has yet to make any waves in the comedy world and continually struggles to find an audience that like him. A Nick Ferrari enthusiast and a nasal spray addict, Brian has given himself 25 years to reach the London Palladium.

‘One of the best comedy characters of the decade.’ Ricky Gervais

‘Very funny and horrifically distressing.’ Independent

Brendon Burns

Mmm, how do you go about describing a comedy act who may upset some of the audience? I think its best not to start. I think its best to describe you, the audience. Please only come to this gig if you genuinely like comedy, don’t take life too seriously and you’re up for anything – Because this guy is literally hilarious. Thats probably why Brendon Burns gets to do national and international tours, has won some of the best awards going in comedy and why we desperately try to book him every year!

Appearing in the Alps from

This is no holes barred comedy, but that doesn’t mean lude and rude for the sake of it. Its Mr Burns mission is to uncover the banality of life and expose the social awkwardness prevalent in society and fuck about with it, lay it bare for all to see. You can pick it up and run with it or fold your arms in disapproval. That’s your choice. If its the latter, go over the road and watch a cover band play pop music to a backing track.
