Carey Marx & Bobby Mair
Taking the Piste presents: Carey Marx & Bobby Mair !
Carey Marx & Bobby Mair
After a fantasatic first week of comedy here in the mountains, we are continuing the season in style here at Taking the Piste, with the wonderful Carey Marx & Bobby Mair. (See below for details)
Bobby Mair is a dark, honest and loud stand up comic. He just starred in a reality sitcom for Vice with his wife called Bobby and Harriet: Get Married. He’s appeared on BBC2’s Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Ch4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats, BBC3’s Russell Howard’s Good News, Sweat The Small Stuff, E4’s Virtually Famous, Comedy Central’s Live at The Comedy Store and KSI’s Demolished.
Carey has just peformed his new show for Edinburgh 2017, The Afterwife. His marriage has just crumbled and he now finds himself single at the age of 50. In this savagely introspective show, he tries to come to terms with failure, disappointment, enthusiasm and freedom. Carey’s cynicism becomes inextricably married to dark cold reality. But don’t fear, nothing is too dark, cold or real for Carey.
His previous eleven solo shows have been described as, ‘Quite brutal, in a darkly comic Quentin Tarantino kind of way’ (Chortle), ‘Comedy of the most cerebral variety’ (Herald), ‘Essential Viewing’ (Fest), ‘Supremely-crafted comedy’ (List), ‘Awkward misfit Marx has a genius for the unexpected and hilarious left turns’ (Guardian), ‘Such a devilish grin, that you can only admire him for being such a magnificent bastard’ (The Scotsman).
